What does a guy mean when he asks you if you want to go "bear calling"?

My roommates came back from going to visiting girls dorms, and a kid came to the door while they were out and asked a girl there if she wanted to go Bear calling.. He started laughing hysterically when she was confused.. so i'd like to know what the underlying joke is if anybody knows!
