I've been ually active for years and never went to the gynecologist...?

is that very bad? i'm still financially dependent on my parents, which means...they know what i spend my money on. I want to start taking the pill but they're very conservative (and never questioned the fact that im a virgin...which im not)...how can i subtly find a way of persuading them that i should pay the gynecologist a visit and come home with a rucksack of pills? I've heard that one needs to go as soon as they are active...!!!
